There are also shrimping boat tours, historic walking tours, and even a train tour. Families love visiting the oceanarium and any of the areas major parks.

There are also many cultural attractions, including the Mardi Gras Museum, the Museum of Art, and the Civil War Museum. History buffs will enjoy the many historic sites that date from the 1700s. These were used by the early French settlers to Mississippi as they negotiated peace treaties with the Native American people of the area. There is also the Biloxi lighthouse which is once again open to tourists.

Biloxi is also the perfect place to stage side trips to visit some of the other great places in Mississipi. If you own an RV, you can begin in Biloxi and then take a day here and there to visit the antique shops and Governor’s mansion in Hattiesburg or Pascagoula’s alligators.

Pascagoula is just a quick jaunt from Biloxi and has one of the most famous alligator preserves in the world. Stroll along the boardwalks and search for alligators in the water.

If you enjoy an evening of quiet relaxation, try one of the river cruises that take you on the mighty Mississippi River. There are also tours on sailing schooners where you can enjoy the sunset. The Biloxi Tour Train takes off from the Biloxi lighthouse and travels through the downtown historical district of Biloxi.
